Bonjour Mathilde!

Welcoming back a student from our Sister School in France.

Mathilde, who was part of the exchange with Lycée Darchicourt (our sister school in France) returned to Australia to visit her host family from Lilydale High (the Forssman family) for a few weeks at the end of June.

Mathilde had such fond memories of her trip to Australia and her stay with the Forssman family last year, that she decided to come back and visit again this year! (That’s what happens when you form friendships across the globe!)

We were fortunate to have Mathilde come and visit our VCE French class for some conversation practice. Judging by the laughter coming from the group, they certainly picked up a few useful phrases!

Merci à Daniel and his mum Shelley for helping to make this happen!

If you are interested in participating in Lilydale High’s Exchange trip to France in 2018, which has both a linguistic and an historical focus OR you would like to host a French student, please contact Sharon Stoyanoff  on 9735 5644.

Year 9 French

French Regions Lunch

During the last two weeks of Term 2 in our Year 9 French class, everyone chose a region in France that they were interested in and presented 10 interesting facts as a PowerPoint or poster.

The regions we studied were Corsica, Normandy, New Aquitaine, Grand-Est, Ile-de-France and Brittany.

After each presentation we had to write a review. We wrote one fact that we found interesting, whether we would like to visit that region and a comment on the group’s presentation.

Each group then brought in food that originated from their chosen region. There was cider, crêpes, a baguette, cheese, cakes, omelette, quiche and biscuits.

C’était délicieux!
