Unit 2 Chemistry Excursion

At the end of term 3, our Year 11 Chemistry students visited La Trobe University, Bendigo campus along with chemistry students from McGuire College and Numurkah Secondary College. The excursion provided the students with the opportunity to use expensive, high tech analytical instruments within the University setting. The students have been learning about a range of analytical techniques involved in water testing and the excursion complemented the Unit 2 theory, in a hands on and engaging way.

Students were also given a tour of the campus, as well as the opportunity to discuss University life and science pathways with PhD students and University Science lecturers.

A successful Better Together Alliance initiative with thanks to Sandy Gunn and the La Trobe University Outreach and School Partnerships Program. Special thanks to La Trobe University School Partnerships Officer, Dani Gow who developed the experience for our BTA students.
