Welcome to Term 4

Welcome back to school after the term break. We hope all students have enjoyed some relaxation time and are refreshed and energised for the learning programs in term 4. 

 

ASSEMBLY 

A whole school assembly was held on Tuesday to hear our prospective school leaders for 2019 speak to the students and staff and to celebrate a number of significant achievements and successes by SHS students.  

 

Chelsea Robinson shared some of her experiences from the Japan tour that occurred during the September holidays. The tour was attended by a number of students and Mr Hadleigh Sirett and Ms Suzanne Couchman. 

 

Mustafa Abbassi shared news about the SHS soccer teams and their amazing success this year. The Senior team came runner up and the U15 Division 2 team won their grand final. SHS has been presented with flags and a trophy Congratulations to all the SHS soccer players for your amazing effort and commitment this year. 

 

School captain nominees each gave short speeches to the assembly. The quality of both the female and male candidates was extremely high and all nominees should be very proud of their efforts. Congratulations to the following students who have been voted by their peers and staff to the following roles for 2019:

The assembly finished with a whole school draw from the School Wide Positive Behaviour tickets issued in Term 3 for students demonstrating Respect, Responsibility or Commitment. Congratulations to the following students who have each won a $30 village cinema gift card:

TERM 4 CURRICULUM DAYS- PUPIL FREE DAY

The school will be closed on Monday 5th November.  This day is one of the designated pupil free days by the DET. Our staff will use this day for Professional Learning activities focusing on Strategic Planning and Curriculum Development. 

 

In preparation for the new school, there will be an Alliance professional learning day on Tuesday 27th November. On this day, all four secondary schools will meet to begin planning for the new school.

Before & After School

The school provides staff supervision for students arriving before school between 8.35am and 9.00am.  After school supervision is provided between 3.16pm and 3.58pm.
