Winter Coat Drive Success!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the Winter Coat Drive in support of The Generosity Collective. As a community, we came together and achieved an incredible feat of collecting over 170 coats! These essential items are urgently needed and will be distributed to families this week.

The charity expressed their huge appreciation and wanted to convey a sincere thank you to RMPS for their extraordinary generosity and the profound impact it has made.

Thriving Kids and Parents Schools Project

The pandemic has had a significant impact on children’s social and emotional development, resulting in increased levels of anxiety and significant challenges in developing healthy peer relationships.

The Thriving Kids and Parents Schools Project (TKPSP) – Seminar Series is a post-COVID-19 initiative that aims to strengthen partnerships between schools and families by offering three FREE, highly relevant Triple P – Positive Parenting seminars for parents

The Commonwealth-funded project also includes a complementary brief teacher webinar session, and a summary of the strategies for teachers/school staff.

The interactive, online seminar package for parents includes:

·        Power of Positive Parenting (Triple P Seminar)

Practical strategies to support children’s social and emotional development and to guide their behaviour.

·        Helping Your Child to Manage Anxiety (Fear-Less Triple P Seminar)

Skills and strategies to support children manage their emotions and overcome challenges.

·        Keeping Your Child Safe from Bullying (Resilience Triple P Seminar)

How to maintain good communication with the children, develop positive relationships, and address conflict and bullying.

The project team are excited to announce that the first seminar package has been well received by schools across Victoria and places for the first series of seminars are filling quickly. Currently there are only places remaining for 40 schools.

When you register for the project you will receive:

1.      Promotional materials to be distributed within your school network

2.      Access to the complementary teacher resources

Your role as the school representative will involve promoting the TKPSP to parents/carers in your school community.

Works on Junior School Decking

Dear Robbie Mac Community,

On Monday May 15th, work is set to begin on replacing our Junior School Decking.

This will have an impact on our community as the area needs to be fenced off for safety as they get to work. The front gate on Birdwood Street directly near the decking will no longer be accessible and safety fencing will be erected from this point across the pathway leading to the main office and at the top of the asphalt stairs and ramp leading to the Junior School Building.

Workers will also be using a compound near the Year 6 classroom for their own breaks etc.

All members of the community will need to utilise the gate on Devon Street in order to access the Junior School. Students in Foundation to Year 2 will have new areas to line up and be collected by their teachers from Monday.

Foundation classes will all line up in front of FC’s door.1/2R and 1B will line up together and use Ms Ryan’s stairs to enter their classrooms.

2R and 2S will line up along the garden bed and will and use the doors near the internal staircase to enter their classrooms.

We have been advised that this work may take until August to complete. We will continue to update the community of any further access changes as the project progresses and would like to thank the community for their support as we navigate access during this time.
