PFA News

Dear RMPS families,

The PFA Committee has reviewed all the responses received from the PFA Volunteer Sign-Up survey and have allocated coordinator roles to parents and carers who have offered to organise events and fundraisers. Thank you for offering your time to help coordinate these for the benefit of the school community.

Help! Coordinators still needed

The PFA Committee are still looking for coordinators to help with organising the following:

  • Parent/Carer Night (Term 3 – Date to be confirmed)
  • Foundation Transition Morning/Afternoon Tea (Dates TBC; 1xTerm 3 and 1xTerm 4)
  • World Teachers' Day Morning Tea (Friday 27 October)
  • School Fun Run (Colour Run) (Monday 30 October)

As a coordinator, you will be liaising with us, the school, providers, and families to ensure we have enough people to help and that what is needed is organised. Most of the work can be done from the comfort of your home. And you will not be doing it all by yourself. We and the school are here to help! If you can take on a coordinator role to support the school and PFA, please reach out to let us know at rmps.pfa@gmail.com.

Upcoming PFA Events and Fundraisers

‘FUN’raising Bites – Just launched!  By now, you should have received the PFA letter sent home with your eldest (or only) Robbie Mac child on Tuesday that kicked off our new bitesize ‘FUN’raising Bites initiative. Did you enjoy your sample Choc Chip, Salted Caramel and Raspberry biscuits? With no added preservatives, artificial colours or flavours, these are Australia’s highest award-winning biscuits. And they are Australian owned and made, with environmentally friendly packaging! This simple fundraiser will get families involved in helping us raise much needed funds to go towards new 2023 play equipment like a Gaga pit or soccer goals for the children to enjoy, and we will also be helping the Bite Size Kids Appeal. Our goal is to raise $6,000 from Gourmet Bites Box sales for Robbie Mac. Initially, each family will be allocated one ‘FUN’raising Bites Carry Box containing 15 Gourmet Bites Boxes (five of each flavour), but if you would like to start with more than one carry box or opt-out of the fundraiser, please let us know by returning the ‘Bitesize Fundraiser Form’ included with the letter to your child’s classroom teacher by Tuesday 20 June. ‘FUN’raising Bites Carry Boxes will then be distributed to families through their eldest Robbie Mac child on Thursday 13 July and biscuits sold up to Tuesday 15 August.

PFA

The PFA is a group of volunteer parents and carers who help organise events and fundraising activities for RMPS, welcome families and bring people together from within the community. This helps us all connect more closely with our school and to raise vital funds for school improvements.  Without volunteers, there would be no PFA.

All RMPS parents and carers are welcome to register as PFA members, enabling them to receive copies of meeting minutes, vote on items/actions and the office bearer (executive) roles as applicable, and be elected to PFA office bearer roles. If you would like to register as a member, please contact us for a copy of the registration form.  Note that you do not have to be a member to help on events or attend meetings.

Next meeting: Wednesday 14 June 2023 at 8:00pm – 9:00pm.  This meeting will be held online. Further details on how to join will be sent out prior to the meeting. We look forward to having many parents and carers dial in and join us for this meeting.

Best wishes,

Wen Li (President), Elizabeth (Secretary) and Bård (Treasurer)
