  • Body Aches
  • Feeling weak

If you are concerned about your child’s condition at any stage, please take them to see a doctor.

Covid 19

With COVID still present in the community, it is important to know what to do if a family member tests positive.

The following information is from NT Health about what to do when you test positive for COVID.

Follow these steps if you test positive for COVID-19 to protect yourself and others.

Step 1. Register your positive test result

If you test positive for COVID-19 it is recommended that you register your result on the NT Government site by completing this online registration form

You can call the COVID-19 hotline on 1800 490 484 if you live in a remote area or need assistance with translations or online registration.

Step 2. Stay home whilst you have symptoms

It is no longer a requirement to self-isolate following a positive COVID-19 test.  It is your responsibility to stay at home whilst you feel unwell and show symptoms to limit the spread and protect our community.

If you test positive for COVID-19, you may be infectious for up to 10 days. To reduce the risk to others, it is recommended you:

  • stay home if unwell, even if your symptoms are mild
  • practise personal hygiene including hand washing or using hand sanitiser
  • maintain a distance of 1.5 metres away from others where possible
  • wear a mask indoors and outdoors when social distancing is not possible
  • avoid visiting people at high risk of severe illness, people in hospital, aged care or disability facility for at least 7 days.

Step 3. Manage your symptoms and health

Most people who are vaccinated and get COVID-19 can care for themselves at home. Others may need to contact their GP or get a referral to a hospital specialist.

Learn how to manage your COVID-19 illness.

In order to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 amongst our students and staff, please keep your child at home when they test positive for COVID until they show no symptoms of any cold and flu symptoms

If the Medical Centre calls you advising you that your child has come to the Medical Centre with cold and flu symptoms, it is expected that you collect your child as soon as possible to help reduce the spread of illness amongst other students and staff.

St Philip’s College Medical Centre can be contacted on 8950 4567 Monday - Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm.
