Curious Minds

Curious Minds is a hands-on extension and mentoring program which strives to ignite girls’ passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The program combines two camps, held in December (summer camp) and July (winter camp), with a six-month STEM coaching program for female students in Year 9 and Year 10.

This year we had two Year 10 students from St Philip's College, Keely Hayward and Elisabeth Holzmann take part in the program, and teacher, Jenni Frank, completed the program as a STEM coach. They recently concluded the program with a trip to the University of Adelaide (see the picture below).

Keely Hayward has reflected on her experience below:

‘I absolutely loved my Curious Minds Experience. I was lucky to get involved in the program and loved the camps and my 6 month coaching program. The camps, both online and in-person were interactive, informative and the staff made it so creative and exciting. My coach was also amazing with helping myself and my partner learn more about her field, which is marine geology, whilst also incorporating our own interest topics. I focused on forensic science and I’m so grateful I got the opportunity to present my interest topic in front of everyone. Not only has the program given me opportunities for the future, but it’s also introduced me to a great group of people who I can’t wait to see do amazing things in STEM in the future. If you can sign up for the 2023/24 program, do it!’

If you are interested in signing up to the program this year, please contact
