Lunch Time Activities

Over the past two terms, we have been holding lunch time activities. These activities have been created to help individuals and groups to develop their social confidence in a variety of situations. The students have been chosen by teachers, where they are able to learn and lead through each other.

There are a variety of activities held each lunch time and include the following:

Visual Art Mondays

Students create small art projects over the term and learn how to provide ideas to each other before creating their art.

Gaga Pit Year Five/Six Wednesdays & Year Three/Fours Fridays

Gaga is the new ‘it’ sport at Miners Rest PS. Students usually begin playing on Year Four camp and is always a big hit! The pit was created through student voice and consultation and is now used twice weekly.

Social Games Tuesdays & Thursdays

Activity games held in the gym, which looks at building game awareness and teamwork.

Library Tuesdays

The library is a quite space offered to all students on Tuesday lunch times, providing a relaxing area for our readers.

MRPS Newsroom

Each Wednesday, our Year Five/Six news team is gathering ideas to create MRPS News. They are able to discuss the latest and upcoming events before letting the community know at our assemblies.
