CHANGES TO THE K-2 SYLLABUS
GRANDPARENT'S DAY
DRAWING US TOGETHER
In honour of NAIDOC Week 2023, Tamworth Square has partnered with author, Bianca F. Stawiarski, a Badimaya (First Nation) from South Australia.
Inspired by her story, throughout Term 2 our students have created illustrations for the pages, and a selection of the illustrations have been chosen as finalists.
They will be on display in Tamworth Square throughout the school holidays… and we need your help! To lodge your vote for your favourite illustration, simply find the display boards located near Kmart, scan the QR code and then fill out the registration form which lets you select which school and piece of artwork you’d like to see featured in the story book.
We have many St Nicholas entries so it would be great if you are able to vote! Thank you to Mr Trevor French for assisting the students with this opportunity.

YEAR 5 LAKE KEEPIT EXCURSION
THURSDAY 19 OCTOBER TO FRIDAY 20 OCTOBER 2023
Our Year 5 students and staff will be travelling to Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre for their annual excursion.
In the coming days, parents will receive a Compass Event Notification which will include full details, consent forms and payment options.
If we have any parents willing and daring enough to accompany us, then please email jwoolaston@arm.catholic.edu.au indicating your interest. Please note, you will need a current Working With Children Check.
We are really looking forward to this excursion to close out the 2023 school year and to give our 2024 school leaders the opportunity to come together as a group before they begin their final year of primary education. YEAR 6 CANBERRA EXCURSION
MONDAY 4 DECEMBER TO FRIDAY 8 DECEMBER 2023
Our Year 6 students and staff will be travelling to Canberra for their annual excursion.
Parents should have received a Compass Event Notification which will include full details, consent forms and payment options. The cost will be $600.00 and this will be confirmed in the Compass Event Notification. Please note, we are trying very hard to keep all costs to a minimum.

VERITAS
Our Veritas Awards stem from our school motto - ‘Veritas’ - meaning truth. The Veritas Award is awarded to students who have been consistently displaying citizenship, leadership and/or Christian Living. Students receiving a Veritas Award are those students who have displayed our ‘Rules for Living’ in their everyday interactions. This term our focus is on ‘Valuing, respecting and caring for others’.

COVID INFORMATION
At the end of 2022, National Cabinet announced that people who test positive to COVID-19 do not need to isolate. In line with this announcement, schools will continue to follow guidance issued by NSW Health to support the safety and wellbeing of our school communities.
Staff and students with COVID-19 symptoms
If a student or staff member is unwell and has any symptoms they should always test for COVID-19 and not attend school until they are symptom free.
Positive COVID-19 cases
If a student or staff member receives a positive result with a RAT or PCR test they should:
1.Record the positive result through the Services NSW website or app
2. Notify the school of the positive results as soon as possible
