Forest School

We've had a wonderful and action packed week at Forest School! Fire lighting was a lot of fun and the children have realised that getting the initial flame lit is the easy bit, keeping the fire going iss the biggest challenge. Huge thanks to Cam the Fire Guardian (Dad to Rupert and Lucy) for attending some classes to enable us to go ahead with the activity!
We also had a lot of fun exploring the dam. We were searching for ice but ended up enjoying the peaceful environment. Some of the kids made their own fishing rods and others practised balancing ... the threat of cold water a great motivation to stay on the beam!
The juniors had fun digging for treasure after finding a pirate 'x' on a log and others enjoyed the company of Imogen, sister to Archie in Foundation, as she participated during her work experience week. Thank you Imogen!
We talked about the Winter Solstice and felt hopeful that the sun would start getting out of bed for longer days and sang a song to encourage the light to come in.
Have a wonderful break and see you all next term for more adventures in the forest!
