What is Art4All?

Art4All is Fairfield Primary School’s annual art festival running over the weekend of Friday 17, Saturday 18, and finishing on Sunday 19 November. It brings our students, families, friends, local community and art community together to enjoy a weekend of fine art, food and family fun. This is our 26th year in the running. 

Art4All integrates Marjie’s themed classroom Visual Arts education. This year the students are focusing on Leonardo da Vinci – the inventor, painter, engineer, scientist, architect.

On the weekend school gym transforms into the Art4All Gallery and students display their artwork alongside professional artists. Check out our Art4All website for how successful last year’s event was. (Note, the website will be updated shortly with this year’s information).

We Want You – Coordinators Needed

Be part of our group! Volunteer your coordinator skills and meet some fantastic people in the process.

While there’s a whole Art4All Committee working hard in the background, we are looking for volunteers to take on the coordination of specific parts of the event. 

• Kid’s Café: Find a friend and run the Kid’s Café on Sunday. You’ll manage the very simple menu of Do-It-All Kids Lunch. Organise stock and manage the volunteers on Sunday 19 November.
• Gala Night Food Prep & Organisation:Typically run by Year 5/6 parents is the Gala Night’s canapes. Year 6 students take part by helping in the kitchen to serving (in fancy clothes) delicious nibbles. This volunteer can be a chef, or a foodie that loves cooking. The role includes the design of the menu and running the kitchen of volunteers on Gala Night, on the evening of Saturday 18 November.
• Bar: A parent to help Michael manage the Gallery Bar on both Friday 17 and Saturday 18 on an evening. Having a current RSA certificate is a bonus.  
• Art4All Gallery: A volunteer to join four others in the logistics of running the Art4All Gallery. No experience necessary. This person needs to be free over the Art4All weekend to help with troubleshooting of the incoming and outgoing artworks, dealing with queries, doing quick training sessions with volunteers and more. 
• Hot Food: A volunteer overseeing the hot food area (not actually cooking). This person manages volunteers in bumping in/out and ensuring the volunteers' cooking station is well stocked with drinks and food stock. This position is just for the day – Sunday 19th November. 
• Paper Planes: A volunteer or two friends to run a paper aeroplane workshop and flying zone. You will have hourly volunteers coming and going. We will have videos running to help kids fold their own functional and spiffy aeroplanes. You will need to help them problem solve if they get stuck and also help in the flying zone where they can test out their planes for accuracy and distance. What fun!

• The kids LOVE our Art4All t-shirts! They’re being designed right now. 
• Hold on tight, the first round of t-shirts go on sale the first week back of term 3.

Art4All Weekend: Gallery & Gallery Shop – 17, 18 & 19 November

• Our school gym morphs into a curated Gallery of paintings, prints and sculptures from established and emerging artists (hello bare walls), 
• The Performing Arts room is transformed into a Gallery Shop showcasing local makers’ wares and artisanal goods (hello Xmas). 
• A percentage of all sales goes to the school’s fundraising. Both the Gallery and Gallery Shop are open every day of the Art4All weekend.  

Art4All Weekend: Family Day – Sunday 19 November

• There’ll be acrobatic dance classes, sculpture, plane flying… and more!
• A full day of changing art activities for all primary school ages on Sunday 19 November. So much fun!

A Summary of the Art4All Weekend 

Friday: 6 till 9pm – Opening Evening

• Welcome to Country Ceremony
• Orchestra and Choir performance
• Our Gallery and Gallery Shop are open for preview night. Drinks available at the Bar.

Saturday: 10 till 3pm – For Art Enthusiasts

• For the art collectors! 
• It’s a quiet time to come and check out our Gallery and Gallery Shop, you can enjoy lunch, a sweet treat or a glass of wine in our cafe. 

Saturday Night: 7 till 11pm – Gala Night

• Join all the fun of Gala Night! An MC'd event and enjoy amazing canapés, art and music. 
• This is a ticketed event. 

Sunday: 10 till 3pm – Family Day! 

• Bring the kids, bring the parents. 
• Fabulous creative activities in the ArtZone, watch the live performance 11am, enjoy delicious food all day, engage with our roving artists and – of course – our Gallery and Gallery Shop are open too.
