Mini Vinnies Project: 'Help our friends in Murwillumbah Sth'

We can help!!

Dear families and community members of SJV,

No doubt, you have heard about the recent floods and devastation in Southern Queensland and Northern NSW. Many communities and livelihoods have been severely damaged and/or destroyed. Murwillumbah Sth was one of those communities.

We have connected with a school, St Joseph's Primary School in South Murwillumbah and their principal Mr Jason Clarke. Mr Clarke told us that, even though the floodwaters have subsided, they are in great need of Woolies and Coles vouchers for their families who were hardest hit during these floods. Some families have lost everything!! Businesses, homes, pets, photo albums, basically their places to live have been devastated.

Watch Devastation in Murwillumbah, NWS, at 3.05 and 4.05 you can see the area where the school is in the distance between all the floodwater.

As a Catholic community in Victoria, we feel that we need to, and can help. This is our faith and learning in action.

As the family of St John Vianney's School, We walk with families in Faith and Knowledge, so these coming weeks: Let us walk with our friends in Murwillumbah as well.

How can you help?

During the next couple of weeks, there will be collection boxes in each of the classrooms.

We ask for a donation of Coles and/or Woolworths gift vouchers or money (we will buy the vouchers). How much or what you want to donate is up to you, but every little bit helps.

Mini Vinnies Fundraiser in Week 7

Our Mini-Vinnies team will then hold a final fundraiser in Week 7. More information about this day will follow shortly.

Any contacts at Coles or Woolies who might be able to help?  Let us know...
