Student Leadership

The School for Student Leadership provides an opportunity for students in Year 9 across the state to live away from home for an entire term and develop their leadership skills.

During term one,  Isabelle Watson, Rebecca Johanson, Laura Henderson, Gabe and Christian Hammond represented our school at the Gnurad Gundidj campus located within the western region of Victoria.

Throughout the term the students participated in a variety of activities where they were able to develop their leadership capabilities and engage with the students from other schools.

The group created a Community Learning Project which they presented towards the end of the term. The audience was packed with visiting teachers and community members. I am probably biased, but I thought that our group was the best!  Gabe and Christian also made a special appearance playing their didgeridoos for the packed house. Overall they did a fantastic job and got a lot out of the program.

To say that as a school we are proud of these students’ effort is an understatement. They represented us with pride and now pave the way for future Healesville students to engage in the program.
