Magis report

Congratulations to the College Ethics Team who were awarded the silver medal in the Australasian division of Ethics Olympiad on Monday. They competed against senior high schools across Australia, Singapore, and India. I commend the team on the eloquent and careful perspectives they brought in examination of the case studies. As silver medallists, they have been invited to participate in the International Ethics Olympiad Final, to be held at the end of July – competing against the gold and silver medallist from New Zealand, Canada, China, India, Singapore, and Hong Kong. An outstanding achievement – well done!

WADL debating teams are busy preparing for Round 5. Junior and Senior team debates will continue as impromptu, whilst the Novice teams will be debating on compulsory organ donation. Pictured below are some of our novice debaters hard at work, in our most recent preparation session - brainstorming arguments.

Was great to see students getting into House spirit as part of the Homeroom Magis Challenge this week. Student representatives from Years 8 to 10 took part in a quiz which tested their Humanities, Art, Languages and Literature general knowledge.

Congratulations to the year group winners and best of luck to the Years 7, 11 and 12 student representatives whose turn it will be next week!
