The Sacrament of Confirmation
In this week's Gospel, Jesus asks us to 'Love one another as He has loved us'.
During this time of preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, we guide our children and students to do exactly what Jesus has asked us to do. It is a time when students learn to reflect upon this important time and to discern the wondrous gifts of the Spirit which grow an abundance of of 'good fruits' in them all.
Through our love for one another, the gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, piety, fear of God and knowledge produce the nourishing fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
As community, let us pray for these candidates that they may be filled with the Spirit and be blessed with the gifts and have the courage to be nurtured and grow to produce the Spirits' fruits.
