The Arrowsmith Program

Recently, we asked some of the Arrowsmith Program students to reflect on their experience in the Arrowsmith Program. Below are some of their responses.

Bertie - I find I’m good at symbol recognition because it’s about memory and I have a great memory.

Ariana - My favourite thing about the Arrowsmith Program is having great classmates and teachers. My goal is to master Symbol Relations, otherwise known as clocks.

Ethan - I like the Arrowsmith Program because if I feel sad, I have two brilliant teachers in Arrowsmith that I can talk to. I enjoy talking and socialising with the amazing students in the classroom, making them laugh and writing funny stories in my journal. My favourite subject is R Think because I like looking at the old photos.

Luella - I have seen improvements in symbol relations. It has helped a lot because I know where I need to be at a certain time, and I’m not running late.

Gabe - I have seen improvements in symbol relations. It has helped me get to class on time and be more organised.

Samuel - I have seen improvements inside and outside the classroom. When I go to the supermarket, I can work out the price tags and the price of items. At school, I can get to class on time, follow what is written on the board, take more notes and read longer books than before. When I ride my bike, I can balance longer than I used to be able to.

Deacon - I have seen improvements when taking notes in History, my handwriting and following instructions.

Jaymes - Q Sense has made a massive impact on my life. At home, when I play monopoly with my family, I find it easier to calculate the money during the game. Word and Tracing have helped me write neater, and I can read faster without losing which line I am on. Symbolic Thinking has helped me get to the main idea much quicker when I am telling a story.
