Year 11 Leadership Course

This week during assembly with Year 11 and Year 10 students, the new College Outdoor Education bumper stickers were given to those students who completed the 10-day expedition.

The Year 11 Leadership Course is the pinnacle of the College’s Outdoor Education program. The Course is a 10-day expedition within the West MacDonnell Ranges and the emphasis is on leadership, communication, and self-reflection, preparing them for their final year of study. Each expedition in the school's Outdoor Education program focuses on developing self-awareness, self-esteem, leadership, communication skills, self-confidence and a real belief in themselves and their abilities. From Years 7 to 12 our camp programs take advantage of the spectacular MacDonnell and Chewings Ranges in Central Australia and the alpine regions of the Victorian Alps. Outdoor Education is also offered as an elective subject to students in Years 8 to 11.

These students have ASPIRED to new heights and challenges through the completion of this expedition and are already taking on Leadership within the college. Well done to all who have completed the journey and pushed themselves outside their comfort zones. Some will be recognised later in the year for their exemplary commitment and involvement.
