Farm

Madison Corsini

Assistant Farm Manager

That's a wrap! Term 3 is all finished as we see most of our Year 12's enter the workforce. This term has been jam-packed with numerous activities happening across our farm.

Year 12 Students

We wish our Year 12 students, that have completed all their Certificates all the best in their next adventure in life and hope that you use the skills and knowledge learnt down on Farm out in industry as the next generation in Ag. There are a few students coming back next term to complete some extra work for their Certificate II in Agriculture in Week 1 and 2, Wednesday to Friday, we will see you then and please ensure you complete all those final written assessments before coming back.

Certificate III in Agriculture & Pork Students

If you all can please come back Term 4, Week 1 and 2, Wednesday to Friday to finish off the last units and sign all paperwork, that will be greatly appreciated. Please check your emails throughout the school holidays for corrections and if you have any questions, please feel free to get in contact.

Term 4 Year 11's

We hope the Year 11's have a fantastic holiday break and remember if completing any work to fill in the hours on your Skills Journals, please get it signed.  If you are completing any farm work that would go towards your Certificate II in Agriculture, please remember to provide video evidence and get a copy of the third-party reports that need to be completed. If any Year 11 students haven't finished their Skill Journals 1, 2 and 3, please complete over the holiday break. Any units you have been given in VET Theory time that you still have please complete and hand in, ready to start what will be a busy Term 4. Term 4 is when the Year 11's will do their written work in the following units.

  • Participate in Environmentally sustainable work practices
  • Assist Agricultural Crop Harvesting
  • Clean Out Production Sheds
  • Monitor Water Supplies
  • First Aid

Practically, the Year 11 students will be completing their first aid, assisting in harvest, chaser bin driving, operating tractors, checking livestock and assisting in operations of chooks and pigs. All students have had the opportunity to be rostered on all enterprises and now should be asking to be assessed in achieving some competencies. Term 4 will go quickly, so I recommend all the Year 11 students to take every opportunity they have on farm to complete what is required of them and have fun while doing it 🙂

We wish all the students and Mr Wayne Laird the best of luck at the Perth Royal Show and watch this space for all the results.

We would like to thank the following relief staff, Maddi Crossen, Lindsay Jones, Tiffany Davey and Jilli Wegner for helping us down on Farm this term and we hope to see you all soon and wish you all the best in your next employment. Welcome to the Farm team Mr Jon Kelly - we look forward to having you this term to help with harvest 🙂

Happy holidays and see you back in Term 4!
