Principal's Report

This week has been a great week at LPS.  We have kids back onsite where they belong!!

I hope some reprieve has been felt by parents and slowly, very slowly our lives will get back to some normality.  Your support throughout all this has been unwavering.  Thank you for the burden you took on again this year!

Some Measures We Are Taking

Some parents (and students) have asked how our school will go about keeping us safe at school as we return.  We are doing everything within our capacity to follow the health guidelines set out by DET. This includes:

  • Doors and windows open (even if it’s a cold morning)
  • Taking opportunities to work outside
  • Sanitisers in all classrooms
  • Any child with any sign of illness will be sent home
  • Regular cleaning
  • Soap in our bathrooms and encouraging handwashing
  • Parents not coming into classrooms
  • Minimizing contractors onsite

Air purifiers have been spoken about in the media as an extra safety measure.  This is not something our school has received any information about.  Hopefully I will hear something soon.

Team Kids

I mentioned in the last newsletter that Team Kids will be our new Before and Safer After School Care provider in 2022 and beyond.  This will be an exciting transition for our school.  I will be communicating in the next week when we will organise a parent information session for Team Kids to be able to talk with you about the program, bookings and services to help with a smooth transition.

2022 Planning

If your children will not be attending LPS in 2022, could you please contact the office to let us know.  It makes planning for next year much easier!

This also applies to any outstanding Prep enrolments.

Hats

It will hopefully warm up so don’t forget your hats.

Canteen

Reopening Monday 25th (please don’t put tomato sauce on your steamed dim sims).

2022 Requests

Sometimes parents have a specific request that they would like us to consider before making our grades for the following year.   If you have a specific request, please email this to rowan.balzary@education.vic.gov.au by

Friday 5th November.  Please ensure the request states the benefits to your child’s education.  Not all requests can be appeased, however we do try our best.

Have a great week,
