From Principal Steve  - End of Term 3 Celebration

We hope everyone enjoys the special schedule we put together for students today to celebrate the end of term. The specialist teachers - Art, Music, French and P.E - are conducting a series of live lessons at different times throughout the school day to give all Prep - Grade 6 students a break from the regular home learning schedule, to provide further opportunities for movement and creativity as well as to celebrate the end-of-term.

The classroom teachers will still check-in with their class at the beginning and end of the school day and are also providing literacy and numeracy tasks that students can complete when they are not engaged in the specialist activities.

The last day of Term 3 for students is Friday 17th September. Whilst the majority of our students are learning from home, students who attend the onsite program will finish at 2:30 pm on the last day of term 3 – Friday 17th September. Parents requiring supervision of their child/children from this time can book their children into Team Kids. Parents with students onsite should pick their students up from the Male Street entrance at 2:30 pm.

Thank you to all parents and carers for your partnership as we collaborate together to ensure home learning has been successful during Term 3.  Even though the majority of our students have been learning from home, we have enjoyed connecting with them through activities such as Library Week, Roald Dahl Day, Grade 6 Exhibition, Grade 5 Virtual Canberra Camp, the Where's Wally hunt and many more.  We are looking forward to all students returning to onsite learning and hope that this will happen in Term 4.

As a school that is proud to host a Hearing Unit, with specially trained Teachers of the Deaf, catering to deaf students, we would like to draw your attention to National Week of Deaf People, which will take place in the school holidays from 20th - 26th September. There is more information in this newsletter regarding activities scheduled for National Week of Deaf People.

Wishing everyone a well deserved break.

Steve
