We have also been in consultation with 2022 College and Academic Captains to get student input into the document. This document gives an overview of all procedures and protocols that need to be adhered to by staff, students and parents with regards to:

  1. Academic integrity
  2. Assessment
  3. Drafting, scaffolding, conferencing and feedback
  4. Subject changes, and
  5. AARA

You can access the document below. It is also available in Parent Lounge and Student Café under Links: Assessment and Reporting.  This document will come into effect immediately. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Message from The Lord Mayor’s Youth Environmental Leaders

This week the Lord Mayor's Youth Environmental Leader representatives, Chloe Wilkins and Kate Jardine, have been focusing on executing their plan to make Clayfield College a more biodiverse community. They plan to implement a native beehive into the Chapel Courtyard Garden. This will act as an interactive area and teach students about native bees, all whilst having fun. To help raise funds for this year’s project, the girls decided to hold a bake sale. Many members of the student community were involved, including the 2022 Community Service Captains, who helped organise the event, and the Year 10 Global Studies and Year 11 Geography classes who helped provide food. The ‘bake sale for the bees’ as the event became known was a big success. With enough funds raised to pay for the hive, Chloe and Kate will now be able to implement the interactive beehive.

STEM Fair

Our inaugural STEM Fair saw students across Years 4 to 11 get involved in a range of activities. Students delved into the chemistry behind making ice- cream, used chemicals and natural dyes to create beautiful artwork and investigated the energy transformations involved in a harness jump. They made models of the human brain, attempted the Tower of Hanoi challenge in mathematics,  had a wonderful time engaging with animals at the petting zoo and let their imagination run wild with virtual reality.

REMINDER from the School Nurse

When your daughter or son is unwell at school, she/he must present to the health centre to be assessed by the school nurse.  The school nurse will phone their emergency contact if the student needs to be collected from school.  Thank you for your assistance in adhering to these steps.  These measures will greatly assist the school and protect the health of our community.
