Secondary Speech Night

From Mrs. Audrey Fellowes - Deputy Principal - Head of Primary

This week, information was emailed to select Year 6 parents with details about attendance at Speech Night; Tuesday 16 November (please see below). The students who are expected to attend are the students who are transitioning to Secondary School at Clayfield College and those playing and singing in musical items. The Music Department have sent information to these parents earlier in the term.

2022 Primary Leadership Positions

Thank you to all Year 5 students who have submitted their applications for a leadership role next year. All students who nominated for a Primary Captain role will have interviews with Mrs. Fellowes and Mrs. Corness on Monday or Tuesday morning. Short listed candidates will be notified on Wednesday 3 November. 

Please refer to the following timeline for the remaining key dates:

• Monday 8 November – 2022 Primary Captains speeches and voting
• Wednesday 24 November - 2022 Primary Captains announced and badges presented at Primary Presentation Day
• Monday 29 November – 2022 House Leaders speeches and voting; 2022 Sports Captains interviews with Mrs. Corness and Mrs. Richardson
• Friday 3 December - 2022 House Leaders and Sports Captains announced and badges presented at End of Year Primary Assembly

Primary Orientation Morning

On Friday 5 November all Primary students will spend Lessons 1 and 2 in their 2022 year level. This is always an exciting time for the children as they move classrooms and begin to anticipate the year ahead. We will also be welcoming some new students for the day who will be joining us in 2022.

Mrs. Fellowes and Mrs. Corness will be hosting a Pre-Prep and Prep 2022 information session from 9:15 am in the Upper Learning Resource Centre. If you wish to attend please RSVP via the link below.

National Recycling Week

The Green Team will be supporting National Recycling Week from Monday 8 to Friday 12 November. They are requesting donations of clothing in good condition to be delivered to Primary classrooms during this time. The Green Team will pass on all items received to UnitingCare. 

Student Achievements

On the September holidays, Skye Wilkins was in the representative 12A team for QCNA who competed at the QLD State Age Netball Championships at Maroochydore. Four days and 16 games later her 12A team improved greatly over the Representative season finishing as one of the top 20 teams in the state.

Congratulations to Skye on her hard work and impressive results.

Primary Sports and Andrews Cup Notices

Andrews Cup Basketball    

Our final training session before the Andrews Cup Competition will be held on Friday 29 October (Public Holiday), 8:30 am - 10:00 am in the PE Centre. It would be appreciated if all players could attend this session.

The Andrews Cup Basketball will be held next Thursday 4 November at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, Coomera. Please refer to the below attachment for further information.

Andrews Cup Gymnastics    

The Andrews Cup Gymnastics Competition will be held next Thursday 4 November at the Somerville House Gymnasium, South Brisbane.  Please refer to the below attachment for further information.

Our final training sessions are as follows:

Tuesday 2/10             Shared session with Music

Wednesday 3/10      Compulsory for all gymnasts

Andrews Cup Swimming   

Pre-season training for those interested girls and boys will be held at the following times: 

Wednesday mornings 6:45 am - 7:45 am and Friday afternoons 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm.
