Year 4 Camp

Anglesea

As I stepped off the bus a huge rush of adrenalin pumping through my blood, I walked through the passage leading to our picnic area. Lots of succulents filled the garden beds, our cabins bordering them. As I ate my lunch the excited chitter-chatter rang in my ears. Finally, I can go find my cabin, my eyes scanned the area. I finally saw my name, I was in cabin 6, I had tonnes of friends in my cabin. Camp was off to a great start!
First, I went canoeing. My partner was Mira, my best friend. As we rocketed off the ramp we started laughing. Ahhh, we were going under the wrong bridge! Luckily, I managed to stop us from crashing. We kept turning this way and that but still having a great time.
Next was the low ropes. So fun! The only thing was, I fell. My favourite part was the tyre swing. My two spotters were really good and made sure I didn't fall again.
Bike riding was epic! I even got to see a lizard. The paths were going over the canal we canoed in but at one point we went through the village.
Finally, what we had all been waiting for.....surfing. As I bounded into the waves, I felt a cold spray of salty water. Yes! I caught a wave as I stood up. I felt awesome!
Whack went my arrow as I pierced the dirt. Oh, I didn't get the target, I thought. But that's ok - I still had fun. The bows were so fun to use and when I shot, I felt like Katniss Everdeen.
Yes, we managed to balance the seesaw, we completed the challenge. This challenge was where the whole class went on a GIANT seesaw and tried to balance.
Last but not least we went to the beach. My friend, Lucy, and I entered the sandcastle building competition. We made an epic sandcastle! It had dungeons and a volcano!
Sadly, it was time to leave. I had an awesome time at camp!
