Letter writing
Year 2 have been exploring letter writing. Over the last week we have learnt about the different features of a letter. Reading books like; ‘Dear Dragon’ ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ and ‘The Jolly Postman’ have helped us to understand what makes a good letter and the different types of letters that can be written - including writing to a pen pal!
We have been lucky enough to buddy up with classes from different schools to send letters to! Some of our letters will be going to New Zealand! We have shared some things about ourselves in our letters and also asked some questions and maybe even a couple of jokes. Later this week we will be walking up to the local post office to put our stamps on our letters and send them off to our pen pals! We are really excited for our pen pals to read our letters and we can’t wait to hear back from them!
