Ms Belinda Nechwatal

Hello everyone!

A question for our Vietnamese families...

It  has been great to receive some ideas from our Vietnamese families in response to the students wanting to grow some Vietnamese vegetables. More ideas are very welcome. I would like some advice on what would be good to plant and where we could find seeds. If you can help, please email Miss Belinda at bnechwatal@tcs.catholic.edu.au

Gardening Club

We were so busy today we forgot to take many photos! There was great excitement as we inspected our new worms and found they have already grown so much since last week and had eaten the fruit and vegetable scraps we left for them. We planted pak choy, chives and beetroot and learned about how to gently separate seedlings, dig holes and plant them and then put straw over the garden beds, to help the soil stay cool and moist.

NUDE FOOD DAY - EVERY THURSDAY.

We ask students to choose foods which create no rubbish to bring for lunch on this day. Some great ideas can be found at https://www.nudefoodday.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/HOW-TO-PACK-A-NUDE-FOOD-LUNCH.pdf

Some yummy ideas - a sandwich/wrap/roll, pasta with vegetables, soup, frittata or sushi, a fruit or vegetable snack, such as whole fruit, cut up veggie sticks, fruit or savoury kebab or a small salad.

There are some great ideas here:

Have a great week everyone! Thanks for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kind to our environment!
