This week the 1/2s learnt what it means to be a kind and caring friend, and as it was Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, the students decided to make cards for their friends, family and people they loved and cared about. 

We read stories about making friendships and caring for others, including, My Two Blankets by Irena Kobald. Some students made cards for their best friends, siblings, mums, dads, grandparents and teachers. 

In Writing, students took on the challenge of learning to write a letter that included a greeting and a closing sentence. Students were encouraged to check their sentences for meaning, capital letters, full stops, and correctly spelled common words. They were enthusiastic about drawing their special person and thrilled to surprise them after school with their card. 

It was a fantastic day!
