Captains' Corner

From our Primary Captains Vera and Emily

What a great start it has been to 2023! Who would believe that we’re halfway through Term 1 already? We are so proud of the students for settling into their new grades with their new teachers so quickly. We hope both students and staff are now ready to capitalise on a fabulous beginning, to make 2023 our best year yet!

Our themes for this year in the Primary School are to emphasise the importance of friendship, and to explore your potential.

Friends are people that you can have fun with. Friends share, support, and encourage each other. A friend likes you for who you are and gives you a sense of belonging. We want everyone to feel welcome and find their place in our wonderful school. We encourage everyone to get involved and have fun by organising more ‘friend raising’ events, or come along to our friendship club on Wednesday lunchtimes.

This year, we want to encourage everyone to explore their potential and discover new interests - perhaps in sport, academic studies, music or art - and take them further. As with anything that grows, we can proudly say that we believe we have sturdy roots to enable us to branch out into whatever inspires us. We are so grateful to the college for providing us with the opportunity to excel in whatever field we choose to make our goal.

This is exemplified by the dedication of all students, teachers and coaches who participate in the musical groups, art classes and sporting endeavours which occur out of school hours. With such drive and enthusiasm, we can proudly say that Clayfield has already established the groundwork needed for success and personal bests.

We look forward to the upcoming concerts, art exhibitions and sporting events which we are certain will show the heart and passion at the core of our school.

Our message to the students - explore the world around you and learn more about it… you might even make a new friend on your journey!
