School Council Meetings for 2019
November School Council (SC) Meeting Highlights
In addition to the Principal’s Report, we received updates from 5 out of the 10 subcommittees at our final formal meeting of the year. Christian, Amy, Leigh and Shane also led a detailed discussion with Council members regarding the schools 2019 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) and the draft 2020 AIP. This provided a great forum for Councillors to voice their feedback, reflect on the 2019 plan and contribute to the 2020 plan.
Other highlights include:
- The draft indicative budget for 2020 was approved by Council after being moved (and discussed) at the monthly Finance meeting.
- We welcomed another valued update from three JSC members – Isla, Mia and Damien. They had an opportunity to collectively present to Council on recent student feedback about the new playground and they reported on the successful fundraising efforts from the recent “Paint your nails day” event, in support of the charity Polished Man.
- CHAPS and MOTHS are continuing their great work with a couple of events still upcoming this term. We really appreciate their tireless efforts and community spirit.
- The fair committee are well underway and preparing for a fabulous community fair in March 2020. If you would like to help in any way, please contact Christian.
- The Canteen sub committee reported on their involvement in the upcoming Year 6 Graduation, kinder lunch orders and past and future Special Food days.
Thanks again to the parents, teachers and additional school staff that participate in SC meetings and subcommittee meetings.
Our next formal meeting will be in February next year. Your attendance and feedback are always welcome – please see below for more details or email me at Jamison.Sian.S@edumail.vic.gov.au
