White Card Induction Training Day

What is the Construction (OH&S Induction) Card?

The Construction (OH&S Induction) Card (CIC) training establishes general, industry-wide OH&S training and is a requirement for all people who work on construction sites, both domestic and commercial. The industries associated are Building and Construction, Plumbing, Electrical and Fencing. A white card is mandatory should your child wish to participate in Work Experience or Structured Work Place Learning in these areas.

 

What does the course cover?

The objective is to provide students with an overview of basic OH&S principles and legislation. An understanding of hazards, risks and control measures, emergency procedures and an introduction to industry schemes and agreements. The training is competency-based and upon completion students will receive a certificate. The cost to do this course outside of the school is approximately $160pp.  

  • Students need to be 15years of age or older.
  • Limited places available.
  • Cut Off date for places is Friday 8th April
  • Cost is $60 per student, the fee will be applied to your college account.
  • Date of the training day is Friday 6th May. It will be an all-day event during school times.
  • Parent approval is required.
  • The course is held and ran by the CFMEU: students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry.

Free TAFE course Pathway into the Bachelor of Business

 

VU Polytechnic’s Diploma of Accounting provides students with the training and knowledge necessary for a range of accounting careers.  It is delivered by expert staff and aligned with the skills and jobs that are in demand from Victorian employers.  This 6-month course is not only free but, on completion, guarantees entry into the Bachelor of Business with credit. 

Youth Leadership Project 2022 – Western Bulldogs

The Western Bulldogs Leadership Project is an experience like no other.  Offering a broad range of activities designed to meet the various needs of our participant group, The Western Bulldogs Leadership Project includes practical team-building challenges, careers expositions, mentoring from respected industry leaders, coaching courses, AFL and AFLW match visits, Western Bulldogs volunteer opportunities, council workshops and much more!

 

The program caters for young people from the participating councils who meet weekly to develop skills and behaviours that will deliver lifelong benefits to the individual and their community. The program is guided by a structured curriculum evaluated by Victoria University.  It provides participants with opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to their local community by undertaking a Community Leadership Project (CLP). The CLP requires council groups to select community issues they are passionate about and plan, implement and deliver important initiatives to improve the problem.  Participants are supervised by experienced staff that create an engaging and safe online environment for participants to learn and challenge themselves.
