Principal's News

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Dear families,

I would like to wish all mothers, grandmothers and those who have a mothering role, a very Happy Mother's Day

“The art of mothering is to teach the art of living to children.” —Elaine Heffner

A huge thank you to the PFA for the Mother's Day stall and Mother's Day breakfast. Both events were very successful and well supported. Thank you to the dads who helped with the breakfast, it is always great to see dads in aprons.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN starts next Tuesday and runs over 2 weeks. Y3 and Y5 will participate in this National Assessment program for literacy & numeracy.

Traffic Meeting

On Monday I had a meeting with Tim Richardson (State Member for Mordialloc), Jodie Dixon ( Parent at St Louis) and Julian ( Traffic team member from Kingston Council) about traffic conditions in Sanctuary Place and an area for a bus to park at the school.

We have an immediate plan to map the travel direction of our students and to look for alternative drop off points that will ease the congestion in Sanctuary Place and Dolphin St. Tim Richardson is making initial enquiry with Melbourne Water and Vic Roads as to the feasibility for a parking solution directly off Wells Rd

A bus solution was found. The handicap signs near the crossing, are to be removed as they are no longer compliance and a bus can park in the space and the solid line will be changed to a broken line so cars can pass the bus when it is passed.

School closure days for 2022

It has been on the calendar that the first day of Term 3 will be a school closure day but as we have been able to secure a second camp for Y5 students, that day now clashes with camp preparation.
