News from the Deputy Principal

Michelle Hinds

Thank you once again to all those parents and carers who have worked with us during drop off and dismissal times as well as to adhere to social distancing requirements which are also still in place. Our school’s priority is the safety of our students and this has been working well in partnership with you all.

We have been blessed this term without having to implement our wet day dismissal procedures. As expected, this run wasn’t going to last. Consequently, this week has been particularly challenging given the inclement weather. Just a reminder if it is inclement weather at the end of the day, students whose family names begin with A-K, will now go to the Hall Main Foyer and teachers will bring them to the main, sliding gate at Endeavour Drive. For those students whose surnames begin with L-Z, they will remain in the Hall Side Foyer (facing the oval), then escorted by teachers to the Mitchell Court Gate. Those students who attend after school care will be supervised and remain under the canteen shelter until they are picked up by Merinda Park Community Centre personnel.

Parents and carers are reminded that if you can remain in your car you should do so and the students will be escorted to you. Parents and carers are not to enter the school grounds. There are many teachers on duty at each gate point and they will ensure that students are brought out to you in a safe and orderly manner.

I would also like to take this opportunity in wishing everyone a safe and healthy school break.

Stay dry and have a good week ahead.

Working with you in partnership
