Professional Development

On Tuesday our whole staff participated in a whole day workshop with Mallee Connect, two experienced teachers who also do a lot of work with a range of organisations and sporting clubs around culture change. They had staff reflect on their purpose and reason for being in a school and drawing links between the Who are we? What keeps us strong? And how do we need to be together as a staff to be the best we can be for our school and students.

It was a great opportunity to reflect, strengthen connections and to work collaboratively through engaging in conversation and a range of activities. The facilitators challenged staff through thought provoking questions and through their delivery method. All staff were required to come up with a recorded agreement on something that they will do to continue helping us improve, which will be reviewed when we work with Corey and Dave into the future.

"Jim By the Lake"

Dash Adams and Braithan Reid with staff have completed their set up of "Jim By the Lake". The boys revamped an unused squash court into a working gym. As a part of their Sport and Recreation coursework they will be running a gym induction for students and staff, before conducting fitness testing, completing goal setting and developing workouts for students to achieve their goals. They have been extremely dedicated to their work and hope it can be as close a replica of a modern gym found in larger cities.

Updates around the College

Due to the gym moving out of its former location we have set up a health and PE Hub in the stadium. This will support Health and PE staff in being able to access the stadium and pool during the teaching and learning process.

Other updates:

  • Wi-fi to the stadium
  • Speaker upgrades in the stadium
  • Updated televisions to support student learning in classrooms that had not been previously updated
