Junior School Athletics Carnival

What a fantastic day the Junior School had on Tuesday 21st March at Brierly Reserve for our Athletics Carnival. A big thank you to Mr Griffin, Mr Jellie, Mrs Jellie and Mark Bolton for measuring the track on the weekend and thank you to Mr Gardiner and Mr Haworth for marking the lines. These days would not be possible without the assistance of volunteers. Thank you to the parents and grandparents who ran events, and to the Senior students who assisted them. There was a great atmosphere down at Brierly on the day and I think the BBQ lunch run by the PTFA contributed to that. Thank you to Amy Newton and her team for a great lunch for students.

Students participated in age groups. For each event they participate in, students get points awarded to them. At the conclusion of the event, I look to see which male and female won the most points and they are awarded the Age Group Champion medallion.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • 5/6 Yrs: Reggie (Prep) & Georgia (Year 1)
  • 7 Yrs: Luke & Chloe (Year 1)
  • 8 Yrs: Bobby-Joe & Alina (Year 2)
  • 9 Yrs: Ben & Jemimah (Year 3)
  • 10 Yrs: Lucas & Amelie (Year 4)
  • 11 Yrs: Xavier & Laylah (Year 5)

Year 3 Tennis

Over three weeks, Year 3 students are heading down to Beachside Tennis Academy to become inspiring Tennis players. During their first session students practiced their ball control and had a turn at hitting the ball over the net.
