Fete wrap up and acknowledgements

Dear families, staff and students. On behalf of Renee and myself aka the Fete Fairies you saw running around at the Fete, I would like to write a few words of thanks.

What an amazing day we had on Sunday March 19th!!! The day itself flew past quicker than the blink of an eye. It is hard to believe that both Renee and myself started thinking and planning this Fete on the back of the last Fete in 2020!

When organising a Fete there are always different goals you want to achieve. Of course

fundraising is one of them. But equally as important for us was getting our community back out there again after a few difficult years. Seeing everyone together again experiencing joy and happiness.

A huge thank you to all the students, volunteers, teachers, staff, parents, market stalls, food trucks, Naught bar, community groups, Eltham CFA and local Police.  It was amazing to see our beautiful community coming together again! These Fete Fairies have a lot of gratitude and hope everyone had the most amazing day!

Also a huge thank you to our sponsors Jellis Craig North East Group, Alison Champion and DjLuke as well as to @http://bigbuild.vic.gov.au/.../north-east-link.../about/necf for allowing us to offer free activities for our community.  Because of the community grant we received in collaboration with Panorama Height Preschool for the Fete we were able to organise the free activities alongside the ticketed activities as the purpose for the NECF grants is to bring communities together.

We would like to thank all the families who donated items for the grade led stalls! A special thank you to the Weddle, Stojakovïc and Whittacker family for donating items for our silent auction and a huge congratulations to our silent auction winners!

A Massive Thank you to our entertainment coordinator and Yellow Fete Fairy Myfanwy Bostock for organising an amazing set list together with  DJLuke Todd and to Vince De Stefano for running the stage all day long.

Thanks to the below fabulous entertainers for coming along to support our Fete and make the day so much more fun:

  • Natarsha from Queen - Acknowledgements for her inspiring Welcome ceremony.
  • Star Steps Dance Academy and their fabulous team of young and adult dancers.
  • The impressive group of artists from Eltham High School Senior Flute Ensemble.
  • Christina from Wildlife Exposure for sharing her vast knowledge of animals and handling techniques with some very excited participants.
  • Marija Janev from Power of M for her inspiring and entertaining original songs!
  • Janet Vague, who gave up her time before her birthday celebrations to come and entertain everyone and show the kids what Jazz is all about.
  • Esther Murphy for giving us a little of her Zen and fun kid centric yoga practice.
  • Sean from DIdgeridoo Australia for his entertaining and inclusive performance, the kids had a ball with him.
  • The same can be said about Michael and the team from Indigenous Outreach Project Hip Hop Crew, who provided everyone with the most upbeat and fun entertainment of the day.
  • Dj Emerald and Anthony Monea for their uplifting tones and kife vocals to keep the party going.
  • And last but certainly not least to Chris Newey for convincing Paul Howard Band to come and join our line up, who rounded out the day perfectly with their 5 piece band, live music by the Naught Bar was an excellent end to a fabulous day!

A huge thank you to our beautiful teachers, office staff, school nurse Victoria and Principal Mrs Jeffers!  To all the teachers who not only got dunked over and over again, they brought so many smiles with the most amazing, spectacular outfits to get dunked in... to get back on the seat and get dunked again! Not even dried up, many showed up behind the teacher's BBQ to then flip the sausages like pros.

Thank you to the Monty General Store who sadly could not join us on the day but generously donated a beautiful hamper to the school. This beautiful hamper will be part of the Easter hampers, you will not want to miss your chance to win it!

To the Panorama Heights Preschool team, we hope you also had a wonderful day celebrating the happy, excited faces of the children, families and wider community with us.  Thank you for making this day as special as it was by working together with us and bring our two communities together. We look forward to more collaborative opportunities in the future.

To James Rewell, our very talented graphic designer genius who designed all the Fete posters/banners/maps and brochures… we could not have done this without you!

Many might not be aware but Renee Seabridge aka the green Fairy you saw on Sunday does not have current children at Monty South. We have both very much enjoyed coordinating this event for the very last time together as this, with my youngest now being in Year 5 will mean I will not be around for the next possible Fete. However, seeing all the joy and happiness and our beautiful community back out there will be a memory we will cherish forever.  It was an absolute honour organising this one together with Renee. We organised many, many events together since 2014… so yes this one was the last big bang for us together.

To our amazing Parents and Friends team; your passion and dedication to help us create this amazing day and keep us going was monumental. We have started this P&F year off with a huge bang and as this is my 7th year as President, I could not be prouder of such a bunch of amazing humans! We had many laughs and helping hands, everyone lifted each other up to make this happen.   The entire community truly came together. We needed approximately 155 volunteer spots filled via the signup link and these were filled up in record time so thank you to everyone!

Check out the Facebook albums of some amazing photo’s of the day celebrating our two beautiful communities Montmorency South Primary School and Panorama Heights Preschool and on the MSPS Parents and Friends facebook page

To any parents who would like to join the amazing bunch of Parents and friends humans in the Parents and Friends team…we really do have a lot of fun as you can tell!
