2022 School Fete
2022 School Fete

Fun Fete Time

It's all about the build up and excitement of the Wedderburn College Annual School Easter Fete.  Once again we will be hosting our annual School Easter Fete on the last day of Term 1, Thursday 6th of April.  A reminder that we finish school at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Students may wear casual clothes.

Like last year, the major rides are all free. Please follow the operators instructions at all times.  Line up, use your manners and wait for your turn.    We have the pedal carts and the Big Dragon on the top oval, and the Big Baller, Laser Tag and the Wipe Out on the primary oval.

Inside the KLC is the meg market stalls and displays from community groups, make sure you visit and grab yourself a bargain.

The students will have activities spread out all around the school to offer you sweet treats or challenging questions.   If you need some timeout from a busy day there will be Easter craft activities in the junior outdoor play area.

All parents, friends and community members are welcome to this event.    The fete will begin at 10.00 am and conclude at 1:30 - 2 pm when we draw our raffles. There will be  a catered BBQ, baked potatoes and cold drinks available.    It will be a casual clothes day. We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday.  If you are able to assist in any way please contact Mr Lockhart or Robyn Vella to book a market site.

Eggnormous Easter Fete Mega Raffle

Last year the drawing of the raffle topped off the many highlights of the day.   As a special incentive Mr Forrest has run a school activity for the class who is able to donate the most prizes for the raffle.  Well done to the year 3  students who won with 22 eggs donated followed by  Year 9 on 18 and Year 1/2 in third on 16.  thanks to all students and families who donated eggs for the Mega Eggnormous Easter raffle. Thanks also to the Wedderburn College staff who donated 51 eggs. (Looks like I'll be shouting coffees).

Learning Conversations Review

Thanks for the good turnout for Learning Conversations last week. We understand that the day was different compared to previous years however we were able to have all students still maintain efforts in the classroom rather than have a day off.  We also acknowledge that the day could be improved on and please send your feedback to the Front Office with your suggestions or pass onto your Homeroom teacher.

Student Community Leadership Project

Last Year during term 4 we had three Year 9 students (Lillian, Ella & Sianna) attended the Department of Education Leadership Camp in the Don Valley for nine weeks. As part of their adventure that had to prepare for a C.L.P. (Community Leadership Project).   The team have decided to establish a pop-up street library in Wedderburn in a few business and community buildings in Wedderburn.  The VCE VM (Vocational Major)  students will be helping with the construction of the weatherproof street library boxes.

All families can also help with any donations for books.   If you have any unwanted books in good condition please send them into school. The Street Library with cater from 1 year olds to 90 years old’s so any donations from picture story books to novels will be greatly appreciated.

Save the Date - Student Social Event
