Media - Horror filming

The Year 11 Media classes have been working on a trailer based on the horror genre for the Media Forms in Production outcome. Students got into groups or went individually to compose their characteristics. We brainstormed for our concept by using different ideas from trailers, movies, videos, etc to create the final piece to produce.

Storyboards were also handed out for sketching to develop and visualise our ideas. Several students took on a pitch to interpret their idea for the class to give feedback on. Students were also allowed to bring in props to use throughout their trailer and most definitely followed the codes and conventions.

Filming was the next step, our teacher provided students with camera equipment, such as cameras, tripods, microphones, and backdrops. The predominant locations were school grounds where students went around the school to record their scenes with a DSLR camera or a personal camera of their own.

After the students completed their scenes, editing was the next step. Adobe Premiere Pro is the industry-leading video editing software students were recommended to use.
