Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

RAT tests.

The school has received a new supply of nasal RAT tests. These will be distributed on Wednesday after school from the two gates on Hope Street, from Rooms 5 and 6, as well as the entrance to Rooms 1-3.

Each family can pick up 10 tests. You can also get kits from the office. With the arrival of the flu season, the Education Department has made these available to all families.

Thank you to our staff who have been involved in a number of activities during the last two weeks including: swimming carnival, organising and running NAPLAN sessions, taking the senior students to Parliament House as a follow up from work undertaken by the Electoral Commission at school, Staff who supervised the SERCL incursion looking at bush plantings and the six seasons with students from PP-Year 2, activities run during HARMONY week as well as the excellent assembly run by Room 11 and the Cycle/Walk to school initiative.

A thank you is also extended to all the parent helpers who assisted with these events. Your help enables us to run these types of activities to give our students a range of opportunities.

It was great to see so many people at our WELCOME picnic. The tug of war between students and also parents was very popular. A treasure hunt around the school was also undertaken.

Our ceramic tile mural was opened on Friday with a cutting of a ribbon and Mrs Jenny Dawson speaking to the students. Flowers were presented to Jenny Dawson and Nyanda Smith who wrote up the grant application. Our thanks to Lotteries West, the Department of Local Government and Sport and Cultural Industries for their financial support.

The students finished the week with an icy pole to head home with.

Our term concludes on Thursday  6 April.

Events coming up over the next nine days include: Year 6 Cricket carnival, Golf incursions, Year 5 excursion to the Constable Care Road Safety Centre in Maylands, P&C Movie Night, Year 6 STEM excursion to the Convention Centre, ‘Play in the Past’ incursion for PP-Year 1 and a visit to Hazel Orme for the Pre Primary students to experience the new Kindy Playground.
