Dear Families,

Australia celebrates Harmony Week every year and at Weeden Heights Primary School we are celebrating Harmony Day on Tuesday 21st March.

Harmony Day is a significant day in our school year as it's when we take the opportunity to celebrate Australian multiculturalism. Australia is one of the most successful multicultural cultures in the world and we should work hard to maintain it. Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background.

It's important we honour and celebrate our differences and recognise that we all contribute something precious, important and unique to our community. Life would be dull if we were all the same!

As a migrant myself, I have experienced firsthand the warmth and openness Australians carry towards those who move here to create a better life for themselves and their families. What a privilege it is to call Australia home!

Have a wonderful Harmony Day!

Eddie.
