Senior School

Grade 3 -6

Grade 4

The Grade 4’s enjoyed playing the game of Battleships when learning about location last week. Battleships is a a very simple game as well as being lots of fun and  a great learning tool. Grids and coordinates can often initially appear intimidating so being exposed to them in a fun context is ideal.

The game requires logic and reason and is a great way for students to become  familiar with how grids work. It helps them to understand the relationship between the columns and rows, as well as the relationship between an actual object or sequence of events.

Connecting to Country at the Royal Botanical Gardens

A very excited group of year 3 and 4 students set off to learn about  some of the unique cultural practices of the people of the Kulin Nations at the Royal Botanical Gardens. Students learned how First Nations people care for the plants and Country and examined tools and technologies designed and made by Aboriginal people.

Students enjoyed the sunshine as they strolled around the magnificent gardens and investigated the Ian Potter Children's Garden, a truly magical place full of interesting and interactive places to play and explore.
