The Edit

The corridors are buzzing today after an extra hour sleep-in & the whiff of holidays is in the air!  Sunburnt students and staff from weekend sport and picnics mingle with newly crowned debutantes, swim-club volunteers, boastful Collingwood supporters and those cramming in the last bit of study for tests and SACS this week.

This week in our Principal's report we have some great news about our Youth Crew Program and our AP Report outlines School Wide Positive Behaviour Support and the importance of respectful interactions.

As our Assistant Principal Sarah Laidlaw mentions in her report this week, we all 'play a role in making MBSC a better place for learning and work'.  Valued staff members Sharon Lidden and Jenny Farrington certainly exemplify these values (I'm still feasting on the tomatoes from the plants Sharon generously regularly offers to staff, and Jenny's efforts and commitment as our school Daily Organiser are legendary).  It is always important to take the time to recognise the efforts and achievements of others and you can read their '5 minute interviews' in our staff page.

As the term closes to an end we give thanks to all of our staff, school council and students for working so hard this term.  It takes a great team of people to make this place run and that definitely includes our cleaning team - thank you to Gina and Frank for another term of making our school a clean space for us to work, teach and learn in.  Our outdoor space is also greatly improved from the efforts of our VM students - read about it in class news.

We also couldn't offer such wonderful programs this term without outside help, last week we had Koorie Educational Support Officer Rosie and Tammy visit.  You can read about what they created with students in the class news page.

And in the last burst of gratitude for the week, thank you to Pete Panozzo who has been working in our woodwork room this term and who made this stunning table from she-oak and who is re-purposing the wood from the tree that was cut down recently in the yard.  The table is now in our Principal's foyer and is getting well-used.  Thank you!

Don't forget to bring a gold coin donation and dress up as an athlete/sports person for our last day of term this Thursday.

Enjoy the holidays! See you next term.
