Next Wednesday 31st August the Year 6 students will attend here at Sacred Heart a Puberty Education Session, girls 9-11am and boys 11:30-1pm. Within these sessions the students will be discussing puberty changes, anatomy & physiology of both male and female reproductive systems and reproduction.

As an essential part of the school curriculum “Puberty” is a topic that needs to be explained and discussed. It is an inevitable process and will be approached and delivered in an age-appropriate manner. The sessions will be delivered by Sandy Darwin, an experienced Registered Nurse/Midwife within the area of Reproductive Sexual Health (RSH).

Thursday 1st September Sandy Darwin will deliver two separate one- hour Puberty Education Sessions to the Year 5 and Year 4 female students. These sessions will cover the topic of Menstruation and discussions around anatomy of the female reproductive system, hygiene, demonstration of the sanitary products and importance of looking out for each other.  The planned sessions will be full of fun activities for the students to learn about their body, in a positive, safe and shared learning environment.

Thursday 8th September we welcome back to our school the Bravehearts Personal Safety Program. The  foundation to Year Three students will be learning valuable personal safety education that promotes self esteem and helps build resilience.
