RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 

This coming weekend is the third and final Dismissal Mass, before the Celebration Mass for the Sacramental Candidates. Fr Michael and the parish community look forward to the active presence of the candidates and their families at the Saturday 27 August 6pm Mass or Sunday 28 August 11am Mass. 

Once again if you are unable to attend one of the Masses scheduled for this weekend, Fr 

Michael welcomes you to the Tuesday 23th 5:00pm or Tuesday 30th 5:00pm August Mass at St Mary’s. 

In the classrooms there has been a great deal of excitement shown by the Year 3 students when researching and discussing the attributes of various saints. Some saints names chosen by sacramental candidates are;

St Francis of Assisi: Patron saint of animals and ecology.

St Claire of Assisi: Follower of St Francis and she founded the Order of Poor Ladies.

St Sebastian: Patron saint of archers, athletes and soldiers.

St Peter: Patron saint of fishermen, net makers and ship builders.

St Jessica: (Derived from the name of Joanna.) She was one of the three women who discovered the empty tomb of Jesus.

St Mary MacKillop: Also known as St. Mary of the Cross and is Australia’s first and only saint. 

Please keep our Sacramental Candidates in your thoughts and prayers over the next two weeks.
