Curriculum

This weeks newsletter is brought to you by the students of 3/4T (With just a little editing from Miss Tillotson).

Reading

In Reading this week, we have been practising our questioning skills by creating our own questions to quiz the other classes on different stories. We ended the week with playing a Kahoot made from the other classes.

Writing

By Jeremy and Angus

In writing this week we have been publishing the poems that we have been writing for the past 2 weeks. We did: a limerick, a ballad and a cinquain, as well as using Minecraft Education to discover poetry techniques like rhyming and alliteration.

Maths

By Hayley and Olivia

This week we have been learning about data using the Father's Day and Special Person's Day data to make graphs on our iPads. We have also been learning about angles and using protractors to measure angles around the room. Lastly, we learnt about symmetry and created our own symmetry posters.

Guided Inquiry Immersion

By Harnoor, Jude and Emily

This week we had an immersion and we ate chocolate. It was made with bush tucker. Our immersion got us thinking about what we want to learn about next term and helped the teachers plan for next term.

In Guided Inquiry we’ve been building powered items with renewable energy (they are not real!) and getting one part 3D printed.

Book Swap

By Maddie and Eva

This week on Thursday, we did a book swap.

We donated a gold coin to the Literacy foundation so they could buy books from the book shops. We could pick two books, one on the first table that you pick and the second one (so it's fair). Parents came to help sell all the books. They were very helpful.

Thank you parents!
