Parents' Committee news

Some updates from the Parent's Committee:

Pains aux Chocolat:  As many families are away this term, to avoid waste we have reduced our order to 150 pains aux chocolate for the rest of Term 3.  Please get in early to avoid disappointment.

Stargazing:  Due to a few weeks of bad weather we have had to postpone stargazing. We will reschedule to a new date as soon as possible.

Diwali – Festival of Light: We plan to bring back the much loved Diwali festival this year in October. We plan to have a Bollywood dance workshop, chalk mandalas, lanterns and samosas! Please contact your class convenor if you would like to assist us with planning.

Father’s Day Co-coordinator: We are still looking for an additional person to be an understudy coordinator of our mother’s and father’s day stalls this year.  The role requires about 5 hours to source gifts and a half day to run the stall.  This year you would be mentored by our outgoing coordinator Rachel Halliwell and you will work with another co-convenor. Please contact your Class Convenor if you are interested.

PC Planning Meeting:  The agenda for the next meeting is planning the Father’s Day stall and Diwali, plus we start work planning for the CJC end of year party. All welcome. Zoom attendance can be facilitated.

Parents'Committee Survey

Because it take a village to raise a child...

Because “it takes a village to raise a child”, we want to have an inclusive, vibrant and engaged school community to support the development of our children. After two years of working and learning from home, it is essential that we rebuild our community around our collective expectations. Nothing can be done without the support of our invaluable community. With primary school children, our lives are busy, but any little bit can help - whether it is donating a cake for our food stall, volunteering to sell the pains au chocolat on Friday, being a parent volunteer to support the teachers, there are many different ways to contribute, without compromising our other commitments! We are now reaching out to you to better understand how you feel about the CJC community, how we can do better and how you may want to join us. The more the merrier! The survey below should take [5-10] minutes of your time only.

Finally, note that this survey is from the School Council and the Parents Committee, and it is specifically about engagement and our community. You may also receive a separate survey from the Department of Education about the school itself.

Thanks in advance for your support.
