Book Week

Last week was Book Week and the CBCA theme was ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open’. To celebrate Book Week we had a book day last Thursday, where students could dress up as a character from a book of our choice. After the bell rang, we had a costume parade around the hall so everyone could show off their amazing costumes. Then we returned to our classrooms and did some Book Week themed activities which continued on until after recess. After lunch, the whole school gathered in the hall to watch a performance put on by Perform Education. The performance was excellent with lots of involvement from the students watching.

Miss Miller and the Library Captains, Jara and Patricia, went out of their way to make bookmarks (with lollipops attached to them) for everyone. On one very special bookmark, there was a golden ticket that was inspired by the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If you got the golden ticket, you would win a box of chocolates! Eddie H from Year 2 found the golden ticket on his bookmark so he won a box of chocolates to enjoy.

The people who had the most creative costumes were:

Juniors: Poppy M (prep)

Middles: Daisy R (year 4)

Seniors: Tristan C (year 6)

All together, it was a great day for everyone and one they will remember for a long time.
