Assistant Principal's Report

BOOK WEEK
On Tuesday, we celebrated Book Week with a dress-up day and book parade. The students had a fantastic time dressing up as their favourite book characters and parading in their costumes.
We want to say a massive thank you to our families for their book donations. All donations have been labelled with a special sticker identifying the student who donated the book. The donations from the Prep students are already catalogued, contacted and out on the shelves in the Learning Community. The students have already expressed real excitement about borrowing each other’s books. All other donations are catalogued and will be contacted and in Learning Community libraries by mid-next week! We look forward to keeping this tradition up in the coming years!!
We continue our book week celebrations in Week 9, where we have Perform Education coming out for a whole school incursion. They will bring the 2022 CBCA Shortlisted books to life in an entertaining play for our students. There is a small charge of $4 for this incursion; please ensure that you check Compass and provide consent for your child to attend.
UPCOMING EXCURSIONS
On Wednesday the 31st of August, our Grade 1/2 students are off on their excursion to Coal Creek Community Park and Museum in Korumburra! They will experience what life was like many years ago. Their trip will also include a special visit to the old school to see what school was like many years ago. Please ensure that you check Compass and provide consent/payment for your child to attend
On Friday the 9th of September, our Grade 5/6 students are heading off to Bounce in Keysborough. This is a celebration in place of our 5/6 students missing out on Lightning Premiership in Term 2. It is recommended for students to wear runners for the day. There is no cost for this excursion. However, consent must be provided on Compass.
FATHERS DAY AMAZING RACE
On Friday 2nd September at 2pm, we invite all of our Dads or special friends to attend our Fathers Day Amazing Race. Each Learning Community will have a couple of activities for the Dads to complete with their children. The emphasis of this event is to spend quality time with your children rather than purchasing a gift. At the end of the event, we will bring everyone together in the gym to draw a Father's Day raffle.
STAFF CAR PARK
Just a reminder that the staff car park is not a pick-up and drop-off location for parents and students. We kindly ask parents to please not use this space to do so. We want to ensure that all students remain safe during these times. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
