Welcome to the final Music & Band newsletter for Term 3!

We've had a truly incredible term so far - some of the highlights have included the Symphonic Band and brass students attending a performance at Blackburn High School from the world-renowned Australian Jazz trumpeter James Morrison, assembly performances from the Beginner and Advanced Guitar Ensemble and Symphonic Band as well as a special lunchtime performance from the Training Band.

Choir - Assembly Performance

Congratulations to all choristers on their performance of 'Don't Stop Me Now' (Queen) and 'The Oklahoma Medley'. The smiles on their faces when performing was priceless!

We are currently working on the song 'Count On Me' by Bruno Mars. The sheet music and lyrics are in the Choir Showbie folder. Students are learning to follow the score (sheet music) by becoming familiar with the musical signs and notes. We are looking forward to performing this in 2-part harmony at the Evening of Music (see details below).

Lunchtime Training Band Performance

The photos below are from this week's Training Band performance outside the Music Room. The lunchtime crowd enjoyed the entertainment - especially 'We Will Rock You'! Congratulations to Erin and the students on a wonderful performance!

Upcoming Events in Term 4.....

Concert Band - Assembly Performance

The Concert Band will be performing on Friday 14 October (week 2) at 2.40pm in the Gym. We'd love to see you there!

Evening of Music – Wednesday 16 November - SAVE THE DATE!

Next term (week 7), the following BPS Ensembles will be performing at our illustrious 'Evening of Music' at One Community Church (opposite BPS). We are very excited about this event as it has been a while since we've had the Evening of Music 'in person' and not

via a device screen.

It has been an amazing term and we are looking forward to capping off the year in Term 4 with our Evening of Music at One Church on Wednesday 16 November. This will be the culmination of our year's work from ALL our Band and Choir students so we ask that you please put the date in your diaries and come along to make it our biggest school concert yet!
