Term 3, Week 10 2022

Congratulations on your active participation and sporting efforts in Term 3 BPS!

Hey there Team BPS! What's up! Mrs P here writing to you all as I recover at home from spinal surgery. Life definitely throws curveballs at you doesn't it! I certainly faced a big curveball this term having to go into hospital for 10 days and have surgery. I am so grateful that I am now on the road to recovery. Thank you to Mr C, Ms Fusillo, our staff, students and families for your support during my time off. I want to thank Jesse Fanthorpe for his awesome efforts taking all our students for their PE classes over the last 4 weeks. Thank you Jesse for your enthusiasm and amazing efforts working alongside our students to keep them fit and active.

I hope you all have a wonderful term 3 holidays and enjoy the sunshine and Spring weather where-ever you may be. I look forward to seeing you all back fit, healthy and joy-filled in term 4 for the run home to the finish line for 2022!

BPS House Athletics 2022!

What an awesome day our Grade 3 - 6 students had at our BPS House Athletics this year! After two years without this special BPS house event, the sun shone and our school did what they do best; move, have fun and cheer each other on! All of our athletes participated in five field events and two compulsory track events in the 100m and 200m with the 80m hurdles and 800m being optional events they could enter.

Thank you to all of our staff and volunteers, including the year 10 and 11 students from Box Hill Secondary College who made the day possible. A HUGE BPS thank you to Dani Bird and Simone Wood for their efforts organising the day! You are both amazing and we appreciate you very much!

BPS District Athletics Team 2022

Congratulations to our 86 strong team of athletes who represented our school at the 2022 District Athletics Championships! It's a really special achievement to be selected to represent BPS at a representative event! Your efforts on the day were outstanding not just on the track and in the field, but more importantly in your encouragement, sportmanship and support of each other and the competing schools around us! I heard so many wonderful comments about the Champions that you all were and are! BPS placed 3rd overall, which is an awesome effort!

Thanks a million to Ms Bird for organising our team and for Ms Bird, Mrs Bennett and Yuki for being our Team Leaders on the day!

BPS Grade 3 - 5 swimming

Thank you to all our students and staff who have participated in our two week swimming program at Nunawading Aqualink, Forest Hill. We hope all students have enjoyed the program and come away from it feeling more confident in the water as well as having had fun learning new skills.

Thank you to Dani Bird, Simone Wood, Jackie Kapoor and Wendy Bennett for your organisation of this event. I appreciate your efforts very much as do our families.

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART IN PE

Over the last 3-4 weeks our students have been working on their health-related fitness skills in our Jump Rope for Heart program. While we haven't officially joined the fundraiser program this year, our students have been learning and developing their skipping skills in physical education.

Jump rope is such an awesome skill to have as it raises your heart rate and is a skill that you can use for life to stay healthy and fit! All you need is a rope and a big enough area to skip and you've got a great physical activity you can enjoy!

I hope our students continue to practice their skills over the holidays and learn new tricks to show their friends when they return in term 4.
