AUSTRALIAN HPV SUPER SERIES

RACE FOUR: TALEM BEND

Arriving at Tailem Bend for our second race in the series, our students were greeted with similar weather as our previous race. Intermittent showers made it difficult to camp in the small tents, store equipment, and keep our clothes dry.

Dinner on Friday night was pre-prepared, packed by the canteen staff, and cooked by our wonderful parents.

The weekend introduced five new riders in the Genesis car, proving to be a very handy addition to the team.

Race day commenced at 10:00am. This one would be for eight hours, so setting up our pit area, getting the cars ready, and sorting out the rider race day equipment was very hectic.

Our four cars performed very well—no major incidents or breakdowns, which is always a huge bonus.

Mallee Missile ticked over 85 laps to finish 21st in the S3 category, followed by Sunraysia Star in 20th and Virtuous in 25th, both in the S2 category. With its new riders, Genesis finished in 39th position in the S2 middle school division.

Our riders were very excited about how all the teams performed during the weekend. Everyone looks forward to the Australian 24-hour HPV Championship event in Murray Bridge during the school holidays.

Thank you to the canteen staff and our fantastic parents for looking after all of us.

Special mention to staff members Marcus Parker, Jennifer Gibson, Grant Watts and Tim Byrnes for making it all happen.
