SHC WINS SCHOOL SURFING TITLES - METRO ZONE 1 FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW

We had a cracking day of competition at Scarborough Beach for the School Surfing Titles for Metro Zone 1 on Monday.

Our Senior 'A' team of Seb Pellizzon (Year 11 Barlow) and Seb Low (Year 10 O'Reilly) came up against the top competitors in the second round and lost their heat by just one point. However, Matt Landery (Year 12 O'Reilly) and Zane Sims (Year 11 Trinity) made it all the way through to the final before being beaten by Newman College and winning second place.

Matt Landery was also in the Senior Bodyboarding team and was exhausted after having to surf nine heats throughout the day. An incredible effort by Matt and a dominating performance by Andrew Browning (Year 12 Carden) saw them win the final, earning them a spot in the state final next week.

A second place by Junior Bodyboarders Finn Knox (Year 9 Trinity) and Cash Nation (Year 9 Barlow) and a third place in the Senior Bodyboarding by Patrick McQuillen and Darragh Duffy (Year 12 Hannan) saw Sacred Heart College take out the Zone 1 trophy for the third year in a row.

Well done to all involved.
